| How free is FP? | ||||

Right now, FP is totally free. However, depending on how much work it generates then we may introduce a modest charge in the future. We will keep it free for all people in the Philippines, permanently, and the first 10,000 members will also be free permanently as well. | ||||
| How do I use the site? | ||||
| Its very simple and there various options you can use. There is a menu bar at the left which contains most of the main functions. The best thing to do first is to register and then you can use all the site functions. Use the Quicksearch or Detailed Search functions to browse through people who fit your criteria. If you see a result you like, then click on their name or photograph to access their profile. You can then send a message to that person, show interest (like a nudge!), or add them to your favourites folder for later on. You can add up to 20 people in your favourites. If you wish, there are also chat rooms and one-on-one chat provided by Userplane. To chat with someone online now, follow the link for "Whos Online" All of the links are explained, but if you get into real difficulty, then please message us using the Help option below. | ||||

| You are anonymous on FP and the contact system operates entirely within our website. Only you can disclose your email address or contact details to anyone on FP. If you decide to meet someone you have met on FP, we reccomend you make it in a public place at first, and inform a friend. | ||||

As with all dating sites, people can and do use them for dishonest reasons. However, at FP we will notify you if an identical the message is simply copied to lots of members. We will identify the location of the IP address of the user and tell you when you view a message. We also use a scam rating system system to help you identify scams.
There are lots of internet scams around and you should be cautious. Do *NOT* send money to anyone you do not know. Do not believe promises of employment, riches in locked boxes, or visas out of your country. It is a scam. Dating fraud is widespread, and you will find less of it here than elsewhere. For safety sake, keep your communications within FP until you are confident enough to give another member your email address. Here, it is automatically examined for scams. In your yahoo, gmail or hotmail address, it is not. If you discover a scam attempt, or suspect one, please feel free to send us your correspondence, or report it to us. We will instantly delete any scammer, and all their messages should we discover a scam. Most importantly, use the functions to report a scam from any message you receive. | ||||
| Someone is asking for money? Should I send anything? | ||||
| Although we recognise that many people will have financial problems and may ask for help, use your common sense. Basically, that means say "NO!" and report the person to us. | ||||
| I think that a profile is a fake. | ||||
| FP encouages honesty, although we also allow a lot of latitude with photographs, so some people have pictures of animals and pets. However, if you suspect a fraudulent profile with dishonest intentions, then please report it. We will erase it and monitor the IP location it came from. | ||||
| The site is cool, but it would be nice if it would do more. Can I suggest it? | ||||

| I cant get my pictures to upload! | ||||
| The most common reason is that the pictures you are trying to put up are too big. Images must be 1 MB or less to be automatically uploaded, and in any case we will reduce them before they are published. So reduce the image size before trying to upload. How? Use an image editor. There is one included with most versions of Windows called Paint, and another with Ubuntu Linux systems called Gimp. Use these. | ||||
| Something is not working. I get Warning messages and a whole load of code. | ||||
| Please TELL US! The site is tested rigourously, but it is a bit cranky and there are glitches, and occasionally the whole thing goes tits up and we have to reboot the server. Some of the searching is a bit funny as well and basically some things do not do what they are supposed to to exactly... But if you let us know then we can fix it, or at least have a damn good look and try and work around the issue. If something goes wrong, please tell us what page you were on and what you were trying to do, then we can look into it and hopefully issue a fix in a few days. If you get really stuck then send us a phone number and techie Dom will give you a call. Even if you are in Angono. | ||||
| I can't log in! | ||||
| Right first things first. Your login is your MEMBER ID, not your email address or screen name or anything like that. Its the number you were assigned when you registered. You might also have problems with the security settings on your browser. The site uses sessions and cookies, but will work on intermediate security levels. Try clearing your browser cache, and cookies but best of all, use Firefox, its much better than Internet Explorer and the site is optimised for Firefox. If it still does not work, then email us and we will try and sort out the problem. | ||||
| I can't get in the chat room. | ||||
| Try this before going bonkers and giving up: Allow pop ups from this site. The chatroom operates as a pop-up. You also need Flash, so you might need to download that. Best of all, use Firefox! | ||||
| I want to cancel my membership | ||||
| You can make your account INACTIVE following the options in the My Account section. If you truly want to be deleted from the database, send us an email from the email address you signed up with or fill in the form below. We will then erase you from the database completely. If you decide to come back after that we can probably retrieve your old account and put it back in place. Let us know, with your email addresses and member ID and we will see what we can do. | ||||

| What about the site? | ||||
| We originally wrote AfrikaDating.com. Its been a great success and we have used our experience to put things together here. Quite bizarrely, one of us had ended up in the Philippines as well. So, its a little addition to the other, more expensive impersonal websites that out there. Incidentally, although we have been offered them, there are NO white label databases, or bought in members. Its all just normal. So while our nearest competitors will offer you millions of options, we offer you what there is... and its all 4REAL (as far as we can tell). | ||||
